Another popular request implemented: We’ve added a new column on the transaction list view: the running balance. It works just as in almost all online banking sites, we display the accumulated balance next to the transaction amount value for an easy viewing.

You can follow now your balance evolution at a glance and at the same time it lets you make more accurate predictions of your financial situation in upcoming months.

We have been nominated for BusinessWeek’s contest for the best Entrepreneurs in Europe Age 25 and Younger for our work on Moneytrackin’.
Read the full article for further information, there are some encouraging sentences like:
“What unites all of our 16 nominees is a mix of ambition, impatience, opportunism, and derring-do. Plus, gobs of youthful energy.”
And don’t forget to VOTE for us!

Many of you requested the possibility to view your overall financial situation at a glance, thus, we are launching the dashboard.
Note that there are two different views on the main page now, the classic transaction list and the dashboard. You can change from one to another just by clicking on the desired tab.
The dashboard is composed by a set of boxes showing some useful information. You can reorder the whole layout by dragging the boxes around as your own convenience, and you can fold/unfold them as well. The arrangement will be saved and remembered next time you log in back to your account.
The most important box is the summary, where you can see the list of all your accounts and their balance. We also add all the balances up to the Total balance value. If you had projects on different currencies the total value will be calculated converting all balances to your default currency for an easier understanding.
On the right side there is a plot showing the balance history for the last year. Once again, the values are converted to your default currency.

Then there is a different box for each account. It shows the last 5 transactions, the tag cloud and finally the established limits (in case you’ve entered any).

Stay tuned because we are going to add new cool functionalities to the dashboard soon!!

Today our web application turns one!

Remember the launching post? It looked quite simple …
A lot of work has been done since then, just check our complete feature list.
Some numbers
Moneytrackin’ usage has grown steadily in the past year.
As of today we are managing a total of $38.7959009 million ( €28.6485755 million ) in over 147.500 entered transactions.
The application is currently available in 11 languages, and it can be translated into a lot more by using our user-based translation system. Users has already translated 9000 sentences with it, in 29 different languages (A language is only available on the app once it has surpassed the 50% completed threshold).
We support 48 different worldwide currencies (with all their exchange rates updated every few hours, allowing us to do reliable conversions between any of them)
This blog has 63 posts and 126 comments, and we receive a lot of feature requests (and not-so-many bug reports
) at our mailboxes: contact@moneytrackin.com & bugs@moneytrackin.com

Our former help section was outdated and very hard to mantain. It was also adding a lot of long phrases to our user-based translation system that discouraged everyone.
But today we’ve switched to a new wiki-based help center, check it out:
http://help.moneytrackin.com
The wiki interface is very fast and easy to use, so expect up-to-date information and frequent updates. The only downside is that it’ll be only available in english.

Click on the new magnifying glass icon (
) and it’ll unfold the search box on the right column:

There you can input some text and click on the search button to perform the search. All transaction’s description fields matching the given text will be shown on the main area. If there are too many results only the 30 first transactions will appear, as well as a message suggesting you to broaden your search.
