Periodic transactions are here to stay
After spend some days developing & testing it, finally we have uploaded the Recurrent transactions feature on our production server.
By clicking on the clock icon (
) located on the toolbar you can manage the existing periodic transactions, as well as add new ones.
You can also transform any normal transaction into a recurrent one, just click on the clock of the desired transaction to transform it.
A recurrent transaction has the same fields as the normal ones (description, amount, tags) and some other specific like the frequency in days when the transaction will be entered.
You can enter different recurrency modes:
- Start and Final date: The transaction will finish on the given date.
- Limited transaction: You can specify how many times the transaction should be entered.
- Unlimited transaction: You don’t specify neither a final date nor a counter, so the transaction would be entered matching its frequency, until you disable or delete it.
You can play around with the different possibilities and see exactly when a transaction will be entered by using the “View calendar preview“.
Note that if you enter a past date as the “start date”, it will start counting from that date and insert the transaction on the appropiate date given by the transaction’s frequency.

Nice feature, but currently i’m missing more possibilities in the “frequency” selection. Like “every month” or something like that.

Have to agree with above comments, a monthly/weekly option with no end date (i.e. rent, insurance) would be great.

Is there a way to edit a recurring transaction once it has been created?
